...and lj won't let me embed this particular video. Sigh.
I am not afraid of you any more. Brand new AC unit working like a champ.
Take one half clementine, peeled, and put in glass. Add one to two shots bourbon (Knob Creek here). Thoroughly smash clementine (muddle it. I do it with the butt end of an ice cream scoop, which works surprisingly well). Add more bourbon, ice. Drink. Eat clementine wedges to prevent alcohol abuse.
If drinking alone, repeat with second half of clementine. Best I can come up with is "Not-so-old-fashioned." That is a poor name for such a great cocktail. Or maybe I am just reinventing the wheel here? A 'Kentucky Screwdriver' is Bourbon and Orange Juice...
Left the sunroof cracked. I have to get a better parking spot.
So far no sparks.
We have this single serve coffe machine at the office by some company called 'Flavia' and it is pretty much the only thing that keep me going.
It does different flavors of coffee and tea and I realized today that I have to start using a different mug for tea. At right is my coffee mug and I am fairly sure I've been using it for over a year now. It's become a sort of baking stone for coffee, no matter how much I wash it anything I put in it tastes like coffee.
A mug that stores its history of bevarages, leaking out tiny bits of flavor for each new cup is kind of neat, though the fact that it's plastic that's doing it instead of ceramic is a little discomfiting.
Anyway, this Flavia thing is much better than those 'disc style' machines because the water shoots through the little bags at left. Sure, it's more waste than other methods, but it's also cleaner and easier. Love it.
One big Case rig sporting a wickedly large fork + one gigantic chipper + one dude = one block's worth of dense trees and foliage completely cleared in 2 days.
As awesome as my job is, there are times when I realize it could be awesomer.
Yeah, really. Annoying - but I got to see some mountains from the plane, which look awesome in person and not in photo.
1 liveblog down (Rene handled 'er like a champ), 2 to go!
...and my image of the state shall be this pedestal, a perfect example of Minnesotan practicality and reserve.
Somebody recognized the need to place outlets and a small table in the middle of a hallway, where somebody like myself might find a place to stand in public that also offers significant personal space. Offering the private in the public to such an extent that even here at this lonely post they placed a divider just to help define the proper number and placement of personal effects.
All of the above was wholly unremarkable to me, the utility and design choices to obvious that they were invisible until I saw somebody making fun it it. No doubt it was some Californian.
Some people, myself included, like to disparage "Minnesota Nice" as "Minnesota Passive Aggressive." You know what? It's perfectly true and I've decided that it needs no apology.
Anyway, the friends and family I got to hang with this past week were the furthest thing from Minnesota Passive Aggressive, they were Minnesota Awesome. Thanks to all for the great time.
I'll see you again in just over a week. Thanks a ton, Minnesota, for dropping snow and then dropping temperatures just in time for my return.
Honestly, I can't remember the last time I was in Minnesota. Was it last Christmas?
Anyhow, booked. Dec 20 - 28, but looks like a couple of those days taken (20th for a party -- have to find an offensive sweater before then I guess. 26th or 27th for family xmas).
SMS / twitter if you're looking for me, or better -- I'll broadcast my location / activities via Twitter. Yes, I'm going to be that guy, but the nice thing (for me) is I don't have to try to remember to tell any one particular person where I am / if I'm available to hang out because I'm telling everybody.

Pleased to meet you.
It only occurred to me after I laid out the cash and there was no turning back that my new eyeglasses go creepily well with the Apple brushed aluminum hardware aesthetic. Or maybe they don't since they match too closely.
Either way, it's a little embarrassing, but not as embarrassing as the 1993 quasi-octagonal wireframe stylings I was rocking before.
Advice: be born into a family that cooks well.
Are Awesome. Freaking sweet, George!
That's unpossible?!

...Going to see if this White Screensaver trick helps.
Went and voted early and then went to the local coffee shop/bistro (Deco Cafe, which is quality) and, not realizing what I was doing, ordered a latte. I am sipping it now.
There was no line at my polling place. There was a constitutional amendment 'defining marriage' and all that which I'm sure I'll be on the losing side of.
Photos of Cooter Fest forthcoming.
